A Woman and a Bird

She thought to herself that she needed to go back to her field and work. She wanted to go back to her field because there was no one to help her with the work in her field. In the village, there were no nurseries so she took her child with her to the field to work.

When the woman arrived, she started cutting the grass and after cutting it she piled it under a big tree. She put a cloth on the grass and placed her child on it. The woman then placed another cloth and she used it to cover her child to protect the child from the harsh sunlight.

After resting for a bit, the woman returned to her work. As the woman was working, she started to move further away from her baby. When it was late in the morning, the woman was already working at the end of the field. Then her baby woke up and he started to cry because he couldn’t find his mother.

The baby cried and cried, but his mother couldn’t hear his cry because she was far away. In the tree where the woman placed her baby, there was a bird. The bird heard the baby crying and then went down to check on the baby.

The bird found the baby so cute that he took him up to the tree. In the tree, there was a big nest where the bird stayed and he placed the child there. The bird cradled the baby until he went back to sleep. While all this was happening, the mother was still working in the field and she had no idea.

When it was in the afternoon, the mother went to check on her baby. After working in the field, she decided to call it a day and go back home. She then went to check on her baby under the tree she placed him. But she couldn’t find her baby.

The mother started to cry because she wasn’t able to find her child. She cried about who took her beloved baby and no one answered her. The mother was terrified. She thought that a lion had eaten her child while she was busy. This made the mother cry even more.

The woman cried until she woke her sleeping baby. The baby woke up due to the loud cries of the mother and he was also crying. The mother heard the cries of her baby but she couldn’t find him. She didn’t know where the baby’s cry was coming from. She then looked up and she saw her baby in the tree.

The woman wondered how her baby got up there and she saw a bird flying around the baby. The mother immediately understood that the bird had stolen her baby. The mother then decided to beg the bird to give her back her baby. She told the bird that he had done well by keeping her baby safe while she was working.

She then begged the bird to give her back her baby and that it was time for her to go back home. Still the  bird refused to give her the baby. The woman couldn’t climb the tree to get the baby herself because the tree was so tall.

The woman started crying again because of this. The mother cried until she caught the attention of an old man who was passing by. The old man walked towards her and he saw her crying. He asked her what was wrong and the woman said that her child was in the tree with a bird.

The woman narrated everything to the old man and the old man decided to help. The old man asked her how the baby got up there and she said that it was a bird who took it. The old man told her to stop crying and she should ask the bird to return her baby to her.

The mother replied that she had asked the bird before but he refused the old man told her that she should ask the bird differently. The woman then asked the old man how she should have asked the bird. He told her that she should tell the bird the same thing except this time she would have to sing it.

He told her that she would have to sing it the way birds sing, only then can they understand. The old man then warned her that if there was a false note in her song, the bird would not bring back her child. The old man told her that she would have to sing in respect for the bird to bring back her child.

The mother was worried about her voice because she had cried a lot. Then the mother sang with all her heart and the bird brought the baby down. The mother was happy and she was able to take her baby back home.
