How The Monkey Tricked The Tiger

The story of how the monkey tricked the tiger is quite a funny tale. The story begins with a monkey who is sitting on the branch of a tall tree. While sitting on the branch, the monkey was playing a guitar. Coincidentally, the tiger happened to pass the tree that the monkey was resting on.

How The Monkey Tricked The Tiger

The tiger then decided to rest under the mango tree. When the monkey noticed that the tiger was sleeping, he chose to play a song to make fun of him. This made the tiger so angry and he yelled at the monkey. The tiger threatened to catch the monkey.

In order to conceal itself among the trees, the monkey leaped from one to another. He planned to hide among the leaves so that the tiger would not see him. While jumping from one tree to another, the monkey slipped and fell into a hole.

The tiger saw this and approached the monkey. When he got closer, the monkey sang a song to him. This annoyed the tiger again and he put his paw into the hole and brought out the monkey. He even decided to use the monkey for his lunch.

The monkey told the tiger that what he caught wasn’t his leg but a mere stick. Immediately, the tiger freed the monkey’s leg. Once his leg was free the monkey went deeper into the hole where no one could reach him.

When he reached deeper into the hole, the monkey thanked the tiger for freeing his leg. The monkey then joked about how he was able to trick the tiger into thinking that it was a mere stick instead of his leg. After telling the truth, the monkey sang yet another song to the tiger.

This made the tiger even more angry that he patiently waited for the monkey to leave the hole. However, to his surprise, the monkey didn’t come out of the hole. The monkey had figured out a different way to escape the hole.

After coming out of the hole, the monkey climbed the tree and he started to sing another song to the tiger. It was summertime and everywhere was quite hot. Due to the blazing sun, nearly all of the water had dried up, leaving the monkey thirsty.

There was only one big lake that still had water and all the animals would go there to drink water. Knowing that the monkey would go to the vast lake to drink water, the tiger decided to wait for him in order to trap him.

When the monkey went there to drink water, he didn’t spend too much time there because he thought that he might run into the tiger. The monkey took off with haste because he thought he had just seen the monkey.

The monkey waited and waited until he almost died of thirst. However, the tiger did not leave the big lake. He continued to wait for the monkey. The monkey thought of ways he could trick the tiger so that he would be able to go to the big lake to drink water.

After thinking for a while, the monkey came up with an idea. But first, he needed honey for his plan. The monkey didn’t want to steal the honey from the bees because they could sting him. The monkey thought that it would be much better to steal it from a person instead.

So the monkey went to the road people usually pass to look out for anyone who would pass with honey in their hand. Fortunately for the monkey, someone passed with a honey. A man was carrying a basket which had honey in it.

The monkey was covered in honey after he leaped into the basket. The monkey then uses leaves to cover himself so that no one would recognize him. Thankfully this worked because the tiger couldn’t identify the monkey when he went to the river to drink.

The water was so good that the monkey went in to take a bath. Before long, all of the leaves fell off and drifted away. With no disguise, the tiger was able to see the monkey and he threatened that he was going to eat the monkey.

Scared, the monkey thought of another plan, and this was much better than the last plan. The monkey tubbed resin all over his body and stuck leaves to them. He then went to the river to drink water.  The tiger had no idea that the monkey was the one covered in leaves.

This plan worked well for the monkey because, throughout the whole summer, he was able to drink water from the river without the tiger recognizing him. This was how the monkey was able to trick the tiger.
