The mother advised her to visit her grandmother, saying it was a wise decision. The mother then prepared a little basket filled with food items for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandmother. After preparing the basket, the little girl was ready to leave. She wore her beloved red cloak and said goodbye to her mother.

Her mother gave her the advice to visit her grandmother’s place right away and to avoid going anywhere else. The mother also warned Little Red Riding Hood not to talk to strangers and to be careful because the forest is dangerous.

The little girl assured her mother that she would be safe and careful. But she had forgotten the promise she had given her mother when she saw some beautiful blossoms in the forests. She then took a few of the lovely flowers and spent some time observing the butterflies.

Little Red Riding Hood also played some more in the forest as she listened to the frogs croaking and picked a few more flowers. She was enjoying the summer day so much that she didn’t see the dark shadow that was coming out of the forest.

The dark shadow was slowly approaching her and it suddenly appeared behind her. In a friendly voice, the wolf asked what she was doing in the forest. Then she responded, saying she was headed to her grandmother’s house along the brook.

After she replied to the wolf, she noticed that it was already late and she hurriedly excused herself. She rushed down the path that led to her grandmother’s little cottage. While she was going to her grandmother’s cottage, the wolf took s shortcut to get to her grandmother’s cottage before she did.

The wolf arrived at Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother’s house before she could. Having taken a shirt cut to get there, he was exhausted and out of breath. Then he knocked on the grandmother’s door gently.

The grandmother thought that it was her granddaughter that knocked on the door and she was relieved that Little Red Riding Hood had arrived at her house. She asked the wolf to come in thinking that it was her granddaughter.

The grandmother had no idea that the wolf was breaking inside the house.  Without hesitation, the wolf pounced on the grandmother and ate her. He burped after consuming the grandmother, feeling full. He then looked through the grandmother’s closet to find a simple nightgown.

The wolf also added a sleeping cap and he sprayed the grandmother’s perfume. The young child reached her grandmother’s home after a short while and knocked. The wolf jumped on the bed. He used the bedsheet to cover his nose.

He asked with a crackly voice that who was at the door and the little girl replied. The wolf then asked the little girl to come in. When the little girl was inside her grandmother’s home, she couldn’t really remember her grandmother.

She noticed that her grandmother’s voice sounded odd and asked what was the matter. The wolf pretending to be her grandmother replied that he had a cold. He even added a little cough to make it seem real.

The little girl noticed that her grandmother had big ears as she moved closer. The wolf replied to her that he had big ears so that he could hear her better. Little Red Riding Hood also commented on how her grandmother also has big eyes.

With a scared voice, the little girl also commented on how big her grandmother’s teeth were and the wolf replied that it was so that he could eat her better. Then the wolf sprung off the bed and started running after the young girl.

The little girl ran across her grandmother’s house and she cried for help. A woodsman who was busy chopping wood heard the little girl cry and he ran towards the grandmother’s house to help her. The woodsman made the wolf spit up the grandma he had eaten by holding him firmly by the hands.

The little girl promised her grandmother she would never again speak to strangers, out of fear. The grandmother then thanked the woodsman. The woodsman knocked the wolf out and carried him to the forest where he would not bother anyone.

Moral Lesson From The Story

The moral lesson learned from this story is to never speak to strangers. Little Red Riding Hood’s mother advised her not to talk to strangers while traveling to see her grandmother. However, she didn’t and this was fatal. Obedience is also emphasized in this story. Had she followed her mother’s advice and avoided playing in the forest, she would have eventually encountered the wolf at her grandmother’s house.
