The story of Sophia and her little dog begins with a lovely little girl who goes by the name Sophia and lives in a village with her mom and her dad. The village was located in the South of France. Each day her parents live in the city where they work.
The little girl would be left alone while her parent went to work. She frequently expressed her desire to buy a small dog. And so, she asked her mother to give her a dog. The little girl expressed to her mother how badly she wanted a dog of her own.
However, her mother turned her down and told her that they couldn’t get a dog. This is because they were very busy and they had no time to look after any pet. Her mother turned down Sophia’s plea for a dog, leaving little Sophia devastated.
However, she wouldn’t give up. After a couple of days, the girl asked her parents to get her a pet. She did everything she could to convince her parent, but they turned her down. Her father explained to her that having a pet is a huge responsibility.
Her father also explained to her that other than feeding the dog and playing with it, there are other responsibilities and they include bathing the dog, taking it for a health checkup at the veterinary, and taking it for a walk.
The father explained to his daughter that having a dog is like having a new member of the family. A few days passed by and it was Sophia’s birthday. She had turned six years old and her mom thought it would be a good idea to surprise her with a puppy for her birthday.
The mother bought the puppy to test if her daughter would be able to take on the responsibility. The little girl was elated when she saw the newly adopted puppy in her house; she was delighted to have the new pet in her home. She named the little dog quite an unusual name and her parents tried to get her to change the name, however she refused.
The name she gave the little puppy was too long and her parent did all they could to convince her but she insisted on the name. She gave him the same because she said the puppy’s fur was as white as snow.
Ever since Sophia got the puppy, she had taken care of it with her life. The little girl would bathe the puppy, feed it, and take it for a walk. Sophia would even take the puppy to the veterinarian. She took good care of the puppy, delighting her parents.
The parents were proud of their little girl and they knew that their daughter was able to take care of the responsibility that was handed to her. The mother then promised to give her another dog the next year as a birthday present. The moral of this story is that responsibility isn’t about your age.
