The story of the butchered man starts with a family driving a wagon through the forest. There are five people in this family: the parents and three kids. They steadily drove their wagon through the thick forest in the middle of the night.
Their horses pushed the wagon. As they were driving their wagon through the thick bush they also had wolves accompany them as they drove their wagon. The wolves were behind and followed them behind their wagon. There were about four wolves. These wolves were quite scary and they threatened the family.
All the father had to protect them was just a knife. He had no guns, spears, or axes—all but his knife. The man urged his horses to run faster, but the weight of the wagon was too much for the horses. All the family was in the wagon, and he slowed the horses.
Knowing that they wouldn’t be able to outrun the wolves the mother came up with a suggestion. She suggested that the children should take the horses and escape. The mother said that the oldest child was old enough to look after her siblings.
The father expressed his sadness stating that he couldn’t live without his wife. In the heat of the moment, the father caught off his hands and threw it to the wolves. He stated that he doesn’t need his hands, as long as he can save his family.
After throwing his hand to the wolves. He was able to outrun them for a moment. The wolves had run towards the light and he could see them clearly and they were vicious. Their ribs were showing and it was obvious that they hadn’t eaten for a long time.
Although the man was able to outrun the wolves for a moment by distracting them with his hands, it only lasted for a moment. After fighting for the man’s hand amongst themselves, the wolves were hungry for more.
The middle child suggested to the father that they should throw the baby to the wolves. He told his mother that she could make another baby and with this, they would be able to escape. The father disagreed with this plan and said that they would not throw any baby to the wolves.
The man then cut off his second hand and fed it to the wolves. They pounced on the hand and fought amongst themselves. Soon they were nowhere to be seen. At least that is what the family thought, because the wolves appeared again.
To distract the wolves, the father cut off his foot and his legs. Soon after the father had nothing more to give. Having nothing more to give, the father felt helpless. Then the eldest son suggested that they should all fight against the wolves, however, this was too late. They were too weak and too frightened to fight against the vicious wolves. This was how the wolves overcame the family. This concludes the story of the butchered man.
