The crow and a peacock story are a timeless children’s tale. It starts with a crow who hates her feathers more than anything. The crow always likes the feathers of the peacock and she wished to have the same feathers as well.
The peacock’s feathers were beautiful and they had different colors. The crows wished she had such beautiful feathers. Every time, the crow would compliment the peacock’s feathers and she would tell her fellow crows that their feathers were not as pretty as the peacock’s feathers.
The crow would go on to say that the other crow’s feathers were not as pretty as the peacock’s. She would wish that her feathers would be just like the peacock’s feathers.
One day, the crow saw lots of the peacock’s feathers on the ground and she thought of an idea. The crow then picked the feathers and then she put them in her wings. She also placed the feathers in her tails and other parts so that she could look just like the peacocks.
After putting the feathers in her wings, the crow thought that she was as pretty as a peacock. She then thought that she would go over to where the peacocks were staying and join them. Instead, all she got from them was humiliation and she was kicked out. The peacocks knew that the crow wasn’t part of them.
The peacocks told the crows that she wasn’t part of them and her wearing a bunch of peacock feathers didn’t mean that she was part of them. Feeling sad, the crow then returned to her fellow crows. After she was humiliated by the crows, the rest of her friends avoided her.
They made fun of her for pretending to be a peacock by sticking their feathers on her wings. Then an old wise crow came to him and told him that they should learn to accept themselves the way they are. The old wise crow told her that she shouldn’t aspire to be like someone else and she should be only her true self.
After having a talk with the wise old crow, the young crow realized her mistake and she felt terrible about it. The crow then removed the peacock feathers from her wings and she accepted herself for who she was. She went back to her friends and she asked for their forgiveness. The fellow crows forgave her and they became friends again.
