The story of the enormous turnip starts with an old farmer. The farmer lived in a little house with his wife. Both couples owned a couple of animals, such as a brown horse, a cow, and a little cat. The farmer had a favorite food, which was turnips.
The man only loved eating turnips, and he decided to plant lots of turnips. The farmer plowed the field and planted several turnip seeds all over the field. During summer, the sun shined brightly on the field, and during the rainy season, it rained and watered the seeds.
After a while, the turnips were ready to be harvested, and this made the man very happy. Then, Autumn came, and the farmer decided to dig up the turnips that he had waited so patiently for. The man took a spade and a cart, and he was ready to harvest his turnip.
When he put the spade in the field, the man was shocked because he could only find one turnip. This made the farmer cry, and he felt disappointed. Not long after, the man decided to harvest the single turnip and eat it like that.
The farmer started to pull the leaves, but the turnip wouldn’t come up. The man pulled with all his strength and pulled harder, but still the turnip wouldn’t come out. Scared, the farmer went to his house to call his wife.
The man told his wife about the large turnip and asked his wife to help him. The woman was shocked that her husband couldn’t pull out the large turnip, so she decided to follow him to the field. When they got to the field, the farmer and his wife pulled with all their might, but the turnip wouldn’t move. The farmer’s wife pulled her husband, who then pulled the turnip, but it still wouldn’t move.
Knowing that they couldn’t pull the turnip themselves, they decided to ask their horse for assistance. The horse also joined the farmer and his wife in pulling out the large turnip, but it still wouldn’t come out. Seeing that they all couldn’t pull out the turnip, they decided to ask their cow to also help them.
So, the cow and horse, along with the farmer and his wife, all pulled on the turnip. The cow pulled the horse, who pulled the farmer’s wife, who then pulled her husband. They used all their strength, but the turnip still wouldn’t move. Their last resort was to ask their cat for help. The farmer and his wife begged the cat to help them pull the turnip.
So, the little cat pulled on the cow, who also pulled the horse, who then pulled on the farmer’s wife, and she pulled on her husband and beheld the turnip that lay on the ground.. They were all surprised by the size of the enormous turnip.
The farmer then put the turnip on the back of the horse so they could carry it back home. The turnip was so big that they could all eat out of it.
