The Family

During the colonial era, the large family lived in a society divided by class. The rich got richer in this era, and the poor got poorer. This class distinction only grew with time. The large family were well-known because of their size.

Only a few rich families knew of the large family and they were mostly popular among the commoners. During the colonial era, society addressed and considered commoners and farmers, along with their large families, as traits of the poor.

The large family spent their time farming and actively participated in other activities. The children of poor families often worked on the farms and served as soldiers during the war. In the enormous family, there were sixteen children.

Mary A. and her husband John Benedict Tates. The wife belonged to the middle class while her husband was an excellent craftsman who was famous due to his work. This earned him respect among the wealthy and the commoners as well.

As they passed by, Benedict and Mary’s children were called a “society in miniature” or “the family,”. Rather than being referred to as their late fathers’ legacy, they were called the family.  The family also changed their business name from their father’s name to “Tate”.

The children did this to show the cat that every one of them has an essential trait in life. The siblings made sure that people noticed them whenever they passed most especially people who hadn’t heard about them. The siblings decided to change the legacy their father worked hard to build. Each of them took action to form a new company, known as the “Tates,” in which they would be represented individually.

The sibling’s days start with the eldest son “Dictate” ordering everyone around. He attempts to make everyone do things the way he wants. These orderings mostly engage “irritate” the second son.

He also liked things done in his way. “Agitate and Devastate” were twins who were mischievous and disruptive. They were so troublesome that one would think that they wanted to ruin all the family members.

The conniving of the twins would cause a misunderstanding or any attempt to disrupt the continuity of the family business. The other three siblings were Vegetate, Hesitate and Mutate”. The triplets weren’t quick to adapt to any changes made in the family business and they put on an indifferent attitude.

The triplets believed that they should not change their father’s business; they thought it should remain the same. Despite being the most spoiled of the siblings, “Potentate” felt that she should be in charge after realizing how much her parents loved her.

It was believed by her that everything should be ruled by her and that her voice should be heard. This is  because she had some ideas. Potentate regarded herself as the queen of the family. Mimitate and Imitate were twins who knew how to swap modes and mimic people twins were indecisive and lacked a personal opinion. They only followed the orders of the person who ruled the day regardless of whether the decision if was right or wrong.

Each of the sibling’s traits, once combined with the others, served a meaningful purpose when they all acted for the good of all of them. They complement each other strengths. “The community named Cogitate and Meditate the twins of wisdom.”

These twins were reflective and they spoke with wisdom in just a few words. Despite being the family’s third and second-to-last children, the twins had a significant role in it. After the children listened to the words of the twins, one of the siblings, “Rotate” knew how to change things for the better.

She reminded each of the siblings of how unique they are and that their participation in the family no matter how small was also of great significance for the family. She reminded them that nothing should be taken for granted.

At the end of the day, it was Necessitate, Facilitate, and Orientate who always made everything in such a way that there was cooperation among all the siblings. One of the siblings, Facilitate always made it very simple for everyone to be happy and to disagree on light issues so that it would be easy to agree on heavier issues.

While the siblings often disagreed with each other and also united, they still loved each other dearly and they valued their strength and how unique each of them was. The siblings also knew that they could depend on each other during times of adversity.

In time, the siblings learned to value each other instead of finding fault in each other. They also learned to reduce unnecessary and lesser things and to show the importance of the major things together. The Benedicts successfully changed to the Tates and they prospered. They were also able to move to the upper class of society because they now understood each other.
