The story of the fox and the crane is a classic children’s tale. This story starts in a forest. Inside the forest, there is a large pond which the cranes lives. The cranes live in a flock and they all lived happily. Meanwhile, a mischievous fox whose name was Wily, also lived in the same forest as the cranes.
Wily visited the pond often to catch fishes and each time he went to the pond he would see the crane. The crane would help Wily catch fishes in the pond. The crane and the fox would spend time together, talk, play and also eat together. Soon after, they became close friends.
One Sunday afternoon, the fox invited the crane to his house for dinner so that he could treat him for being such a good friend. When he got the invite from his friend, the crane dressed up and he went to his friend’s house.
The crane didn’t go to his friend’s house empty handed. He went along with grapes. The friends warmly welcomed him when the crane arrived at their house. The fox hugged his friend when he saw him at his doorstep.
He invited his friend inside his home and they chatted for a while. While they were talking, the delicious aroma of the soup filled the air in the room. Due to the aroma, the crane was unable to control himself. Unbeknownst to him, his friend, the fox understood what was going on and so he invited him inside the house to eat.
Wily served the food and placed them in two dishes and placed them on the table. The crane was thrilled to try the soup, which tasted delicious, and was excited to see it on the table. While the crane was staring at the soup, the fox was enjoying the soup.
This confused the crane because he could only look at the soup on the table, but he couldn’t eat it because of his beak. The crane went back to is house on an empty stomach. He was angry and so he decided to get back at the fox for messing with him.
So, the crane came up with a brilliant idea. When the fox went to visit his friend, the crane escorted him back home. He complimented the fox for how he treated him during his last visit. The following day, the fox arrived at crane’s house in the evening and they chatted for a while.
They finished talking, and the air in the room was filled with the aroma of the delicious fish stew. The fox mouth was watering and he wanted to taste the stew. The crane went inside his home and he came out with two long jars filled with soup and he placed them on a table.
The fox was shocked when he saw the two jars. He tried all he could to drink from the jar, however he couldn’t. Has he put his mouth into the jar, he got stuck. Meanwhile, the crane had finished his fish stew with no stress.
The stress of the fox caused him to run around until the jar broke. He then went home because he was unable to eat and he felt embarrassed. The crane was happy to see the fox struggle with his stew. He was happy that he finally got his revenge.
The next day, the fox went to the crane’s house to apologize to his friend for the way he acted. The fox admitted that he was wrong and he promised to never do such again. He told the crane that he understood his mistake and he would never do that again. He then promised to cat with honesty from that moment. The crane forgave the fox and he was grateful.
