The story of the frogs and the ox starts in a forest. There was a pool in the forest, and a family of frogs lived in the pool. The frog family loved their lives and lived peacefully in the pool. They would hop in the grass and enjoy the sun’s warmth.
The frog family lived a peaceful and abundant life until the Ox arrived. The Ox was much bigger than the entire frog family. One day, the big creature went to the river to drink water. He went into the water with full force not regarding the small creature who lived in the water.
After he had finished drinking water from the river, the Ox left it. While he was walking away, he unknowingly stepped on a little creature. This was one of the frogs that lived under the water. The mighty step of the Ox crushed the little frog.
The little frog that was crushed happened to be the youngest of the frog family. After noticing the absence of the youngest frog, the head of the frog family inquired about his whereabouts. The entire frog family searched and searched but they all couldn’t find the youngest frog.
Soon after, they all heard the cries of one of the frogs. He had found the youngest frog and the sight was quite terrifying. All he saw was the crushed body of the youngest frog. The frogs cried and they all realized that the youngest member was crushed by a large foot.
The old frog was pained and heartbroken. He then asked about the large feet that stepped on the youngest frog. He wanted to know how big the creature was. The frog then used his little hands to ask how big the feet were and the remaining frogs replied that the feet were much bigger than that.
The old frog continued to ask the other frogs how enormous the feet were, however, they all told him that the feet were much bigger than he thought. The old frog then widened his hands to ask about the size of the feet, but each time he asked, the little frogs all disagreed with him. They all insist that the feet of the beast were bigger than he had described.
The big creature frustrated the old frog, and he determinedly set out to find its size. So, the old frog puffed so much that he wanted to match the size of the monster that the younger frogs described. The old frog’s muscles stretched and his body swelled up to enormous proportions.
The old frog continued to stretch, unfazed, driven by the desire to grow as large as the monster described by his children. However, nature has its limits and the frog has overstepped his boundaries.
The old frog pushed himself a little too hard and, in the process, he popped. He died as a result of his stubbornness. The old frog popped, and the river grew still. The soft lapping of water was the only sound that broke the silence. The other frogs were speechless, stunned by the event, and learned a lesson to respect the world’s power.
