The story of the hungry caterpillar starts one fine Saturday morning. A small egg was laid on a leaf. One day, the egg hatched, and a little caterpillar emerged. The little caterpillar was hungry, and so he began to search for food.
The caterpillar found the fruits growing on the tree and ate them. Even after eating lots of fruits, the caterpillar was still hungry. Every Monday, he ate two oranges, and on Tuesday, he ate an apple. However, he was still hungry.
Every Wednesday, the little caterpillar would eat three raspberries, and on Thursday, he would eat four blueberries. This continued, and on Fridays, he would eat five pears, however, the caterpillar would still be hungry.
Every Saturday, the little caterpillar would stop eating fruits and instead he ate only a piece of chocolate cake, one pickle, a slice of vanilla cake and a single ice-cream cone. He also ate watermelon, sausage, and an apple pie. After eating all these, the caterpillar had a stomachache.
The following morning, it was Sunday, and the caterpillar decided that he would have only a green leaf for breakfast. He decided to eat the green leaf because no other food was enough for the little caterpillar. As he kept eating, the caterpillar wasn’t a little caterpillar anymore.
The caterpillar had become a big one. Unable to live in the trees anymore, the caterpillar decided to build himself a house. He built a cocoon, and he stayed inside the cocoon. The caterpillar remained in the cocoon for over two weeks, and after that period, it came out.
When the caterpillar came out, it turned into a beautiful butterfly. The little caterpillar had turned into one of the most beautiful butterfly which had wings covered in beautiful colors.
