The story of the king and his three daughters starts in a kingdom ruled by a strong king who had three beautiful daughters. The king’s daughters were not only beautiful but also intelligent.
The king adored his daughters, and in return, they loved him. However, the king wanted to know how much they adored him, so he decided to test them. One day the king called his children.
His plan was to test his daughters’ love for him. Thus, the king inquired about his daughters’ love for him as their father. The eldest daughter was the first to reply. She told her father that she loved him more than rubies and other precious gems in the world.
Hearing his first daughters’ declaration of love for him, the king was happy. Then he asked his second daughter, how much she loved him as a father. In response, she said she loved him more than gold and silver. The king was also happy when he heard this.
Now, it was time to ask his youngest daughter the same question. The third princess told her father that she loved him more than all the salt in the world. Hearing her reply, the king became furious. He then told her that her sisters loved him more than the precious jewels and gems in the world and all she could say was that she loved him more than all the salt in the world.
The king then banished his last daughter to leave the kingdom. He ordered never to come back to the kingdom. Because of this, the youngest princess went into the woods and she loved there. Heartbroken, the princess cried all day long.
One day, a prince was passing through the woods and he heard the princess crying. He approached her and asked her what happened. The prince felt sorry for the princess after she told him about her entire trauma.
Not long after, the prince fell in love with the youngest princess and he took her to his kingdom. After some time, the prince asked the princess to marry him. However, the princess said she would marry the prince only if her father could attend the wedding.
She told the prince that her father was angry at her because she told him that she loved him more than all the salt in the world and he got angry at her because of this. And this was why she was banished and asked to never return to the kingdom.
Hearing this, the prince decided to send the wedding invitation to the king, however, he didn’t disclose his real identity. Soon after, the day of the wedding arrived and the king was present and he sat at the table reserved for him.
The king was served different kinds of meals from different places around the world. However, when the king tasted the dishes, he spat them out immediately. The king discovered that there was no salt in either of the dishes.
Not long, someone came to the king with a salt in her hand. She told him that she would help him add salt to his food. When he lifted the veil from the person’s face, he was shocked to see that it was his daughter.
Immediately, the king realized his mistake and he asked his daughter for her forgiveness. Being emotional, the princess forgave her father and this was how the king and his youngest daughter reunited.
