The story of the lazy girl and the diligent girl is a classic story. This story begins with a diligent and hardworking girl named Stella, and her father. Stella’s father was a single father before he remarried.
Stella’s father married a woman who has a daughter, Lisa. Lisa was a very lazy girl and she relied on her mother for everything. The moment her father got remarried, Stella’s life turned upside down. Her stepmother sent her out of the house to find a job and start earning money.

While she was on her way to look for work, she saw a tree that begged her to help scrub the branches. Stella happily helped the tree and went her way. While she was still on her journey, Stella saw another tree who also asked for her help.
Although, the task was difficult, still Stella wouldn’t complain and she would do the task. After this, the girl came across an old oven who also asked for her assistance. The oven asked her to help clean and repair the broken parts. B
As Stella continued walking, a dog stopped her to ask for her assistance. The dog asked her to help clean him up, and once again Stella agreed to help him. Stella continued her journey and soon she came across a fairy’s house.
The fairy offered Stella a cleaning job for a year. The fairy showed Stella all around the mansions and showed her the multiple rooms. She told Stella that there were seven rooms and she must only clean six of them. She also told Stella that they prohibited her from entering the seventh room.
Stella followed the instructions that the fairy gave her. Once the end of the year ended, Stella informed the fairies that she wanted to go back to her home. Then the fairies decided to reward her. They opened the room and filled it with several golds.
The fairies gave Stella quite an unusual instruction that she should sleep on top of the gold. They told her that anything thing that hung on her clothes belonged to her as compensation for her hard work. This was Stella’s reward for finishing her tasks each time the fairies ordered her to do something.
When Stella woke up, her clothes were filled with lots of gold and silver. She bid the fairies goodbye and started her journey home. When Stella reached the river, she ran into the same dog that she helped before. The dog brought a treasure chest filled with lots of precious jewels and told her to take as much as she liked.
Stella took as much jewelry as she liked and she continued her journey. On her way, she met a Well and he offered her some fresh water to drink. Stella drank as much water as she liked and went on with her journey.
Stella also came across a tree that produced some delicious apples and he offered her some of the ales. She happily accepted the apples and took some of them with her. Not long after, Stella reached her home and their maid announced her presence.
The maid told the stepmother that Stella had come home with several money and diamonds. The stepmother was annoyed and she told her daughter, Lisa to also go out and make some money. Lisa went out to look for a job.
On her way, Lisa came across an old tree that was very dirty. The old tree asked her to clean his branches. Lisa refused, making the tree cry. Afterward, Lisa continued her journey and after a while, the girl came across a tree from a vineyard.
The tree asked her to help clean her branches and the girl said no. She told the tree that she was on her way to find a job for her to make money. On her way, she came across a broken oven and asked for her assistance.
Lisa refused to help with the oven and she also saw a Well who asked for her assistance. The girl refused to help either of them and told them that she would get tired if she helped them. On her journey, she met a dog who asked her to clean her. She told the dog, “If you help me, I will be wet.”
Lisa finally reached the fairy’s house and they offered her a job for a year. Just like how they warned Stella, they also warned her not enter the seventh room. Lisa agreed to all of this and she started working for the fairies.
Lisa was able to follow the fairies’ instructions for a few days, however she disobeyed their instructions. She went into the seventh room and as soon as she entered, the door slammed shut. Inside the room, there were lots of bugs and they stung and bit her.
When the fairies saw her, they warned her not to enter the room; however, she disobeyed them. Lisa was bleeding all over and soon after she left the fairy’s house. On her way home, she saw a dog and asked for his assistance.
The dog refused to help her because she also refused to help him before. The girl went on to meet the well and decided to take water from the well, however, the well dried all the water and told her that he wouldn’t give her any water because she also refused to help him.
Lisa felt disappointed and hungry, and everyone she met on her way refused to help her. Soon after Lisa continued her journey home and she later arrived home. When she got home, the maid told her mother that Lisa had returned home, bleeding and injured.
The stepmother felt disappointed by her daughter’s situation. She confessed to her husband that she mistreated Stella. Stella’s father was angry at the way his wife treated his daughter, so he sent his wife and her daughter, Lisa, out of his home.
