The story of the lion and the elephant is a classic children’s story. It starts with two animals who were sworn foes. The animal who ruled the jungle was the ruler. He loved all his subjects except for one animal and this was the elephant. The lion and the elephant couldn’t stand seeing each other.
Being the animal that ruled the jungle, the lion had the power to command anything. He would send out invitations to all the animals in the land for a meeting and leave out the elephant. The animals in the jungle assigned the hardest tasks to the elephant out of their hatred for it.
He found the task so stressful that he would be tired once he had finished the work. Despite the hatred that the lion showed towards the elephant, he remained calm and was faithful to the lion.
One fateful day, the lion’s cub was playing in the jungle, and while he was playing a huge tree fell. The huge tree fell on the cub as a mistake. The tree was too heavy for the cub to move by himself.
The cub started carrying for help, hoping that someone might hear him. When the other animals heard the cries of the cub, they all came to his rescue. However, there was one problem, the tree was too heavy for the animals to move.
They all tried all they could, but none of them was able to remove the huge tree from the cub. The huge tree had crushed the cub and he was almost at the point of death. Thankfully, the elephant was just in time and when he saw what was happening, he offered his help.
The elephant pitied the poor cub and so he pulled the tree from the cub and ultimately saved the cub’s life. When the news reached the lion, he was more than grateful to the elephant for saving his son’s life. The lion was very happy and he thanked the elephant.
Afterwards, the lion apologized to the elephant. He felt guilty for the way he had treated the elephant. The elephant forgave the lion. Afterward, the lion made the elephant the prime minister of the land and they became friends from that moment.
