The story of the little red hen begins on a farm. Several animals live on this farm, including a little red hen. The red hen lives happily on the farm with her friends, a lousy goose, a sleepy cat, and a lazy rat. One fateful day, the red hen saw some seeds on the floor and she decided to plant those seeds.
Before planting the seeds, the red hen asked her friends for help. To sow those seedlings, she requested their assistance. They all said no and so the red hen decided to plant the seeds by herself. After a few months, the plant grew.
When it was time to cut down the wheat, the red hen again asked her friends for help, and they turned her down. She asked them if they would help her to cut the wheat and they all turned her down. Both the lazy rat, the sleepy cat, and the noisy goose all said no.
After her friends turned her down, the little red hen decided to go and cut the wheat herself. She used her wings to separate the grains and she did this all by herself. Soon it was time to blend the wheat and use them to make flour.
So, the hen asked her friends again for help. She requested assistance from her friends to get the wheat to the mill, but they all declined once more. So, she carried gathered the wheat herself and she took them to the mill to ground them by herself.
When she got to the mill, the little hen ground the wheat into flour and she carried the flour to the farm by herself. When she got to the farm she was exhausted so she decided to ask her friends if they would help her use the flour to bake bread. However, they all replied with a no. This time again, her friends turned her down.
This led the young hen to make the bread by herself. When she was done baking the bread, the aroma of the delicious bread filled the air. Then she decided to ask her friend if they would all like to eat out of the bread. Surprisingly, they all agreed to eat out of the bread. She then told her friends that she wasn’t going to share the bread with them because they didn’t do any work with her.
She planted the seeds herself, harvested them, ground them, and baked the bread all by herself. The little hen told her friends that they were lazy and they didn’t help her with anything so they wouldn’t get any bread from her.
