The story of the man who never lied starts with a man named Mamad. He was a very wise man and he has never told a lie. Everyone who lived in the village knew about him and they knew that he never told a lie. Even people who were born a few days ago knew that Mamad never told lies.
Soon even the king of the land knew about Mamad and how he had never told a lie. This intrigued The king and he wanted to meet Mamad. The king then ordered his subjects to summon Mamad to his palace.
The king’s servants reached Mamad’s house and they informed him that the king requested his presence at his palace. Mamad obeyed and they left for the king’s palace. Upon getting to the palace, the king took a look at Mamad and he asked him if it was true, how he had never told a lie.
Mamad replied the king and told him that indeed he had never told a lie. The king asked Mamad, they would he ever lie in his life and Mamad replied that he was sure about that. The king then told Mamad to be careful because lies are quite cunning and they can get on your tongue quite easily.
After Mamad left the palace, the king ordered his guards to keep an eye on Mamad and watch if he would tell a lie. The guards kept a close eye on Mamad and they found nothing suspicious about him.
After a few days, the king summoned Mamad to his palace again and this time there was a huge crowd. The whole palace was filled with excitement. The king told Mamad that he was about to go hunting and he held his house with one foot in the stirrup.
The king ordered Mamad to tell the queen in their summer palace, that he would be with her for lunch. He told Mamad to inform the queen that she should prepare a big feast and that Mamad would also be going to them for lunch.
Mamad left for the king’s summer palace and he went to meet the queen. Unbeknownst to Mamad the king only tricked him. The king didn’t go hunting and he told his servants that Mamad would tell lies to the queen and the next day they would all laugh about him.
The wise man Mamad, on the other hand, approached the summer palace and bowed to the queen. He told her that the king might arrive soon for a grand feast. The queen asked him for clarity if the king would arrive or not.
Mamad replied that the king only told him that he would come when he departed and he kept his right foot on the stirrup and this was all he could say for certain. The queen then prepared the feast in hopes that the king would return from hunting. However, the king didn’t return and the food got spoilt.
The next day the king arrived at the summer palace and he was ready to expose Mamad. The king told his queen that Mamad the man who told no lies, had misled her. However, the queen was furious and she told the king that Mamad hadn’t told any lies and it was the king who was caught lying. It was the king who suffered the queen’s anger.
