The Mouse Ghost is one of the best children’s stories. This story is one of the funniest ghostly stories for kids. The story starts with a small mouse who lives in the woods. The small mouse was always terrified.
The little mouse feared all the larger creatures in the forest. He complained about how small he was and other animals are much bigger than him. The mouse would think to himself about what he should do because he was hopeless.
One night, the mouse saw a strange cloth not far from his house. He wondered what it was and who kept it there. The mouse moved closer to the piece of odd cloth to examine what it was and soon after he found out that it was a pillow case.
The mouse thought to himself that this was some pillow case that humans used and he wasn’t sure of how it got to the forest. He was thinking of what to do with the pillow case and so he came up with an idea.
The mouse intended to have some fun with the pillowcase. He took the pillowcase to his house. He used a pen to draw two eyes on the pillow case and he also drew a mouth. The mouse drew it in such a way that it resembled the face of a ghost.
With this, the mouse thought that he was going to have fun and scare people. As night drew near, all the animals in the forest went back to their homes except one. Only one rabbit was outside at night. A ghost appeared to the rabbit, scaring him.
The ghost appeared to the rabbit, terrifying him so much that he ran away. The ghost scared a deer shortly after. He screamed Ghost! Ghost! He saw a creature in white fabric. The deer ran away and he went to tell the other animals that he saw a ghost in the forest.
This was lots of fun for the mouse. The king learned about the ghost and became frightened as well. All the animals in the forest avoided taking the path that led to the mouse’s home because this was where they saw the ghost.
One day, all the animals were forced to take the path they feared due to heavy rainfall. The storm caused trees to fall, blocking the roads. When the rabbit was about to take that path, he prayed that he wouldn’t encounter the ghost.
However, the ghost appeared to him again and he was scared. Surprisingly, the wind blew the white fabric away, and beneath it was a mouse.
The rabbit realized that the mouse fooled all of them and not long after, the news reached all the animals in the forest. Furious, they all chased the little mouse and since that day, the mouse never returned to the forest.
