The story of the shoemaker and the elves starts with a shoemaker and his family. The man lived with his wife in a house which was behind his shop. The hardworking and good shoemaker was the best in town. However, the shoemaker had no money.
One day, the shoemaker ran out of leather to make his shoes in his workshop. The man was worried because if he didn’t make any shoes to sell in the market, he and his lovely wife would be hungry and he didn’t want this to happen, so he had to figure out a way to get leather.
The shoemaker only had a few leathers to make one shoe and this wasn’t enough. The man left the leather on the bench and he went to sleep. He planned to make the shoes the next day. When the shoemaker went to his workshop the next day, what he saw shocked him.
The man went to his workshop the next day to make the shoes he had planned to make. He saw a nicely made pair of shoes perfectly laid on his workbench. After a while, the man sold the shoes for a good price. With the money, the shoemaker bought more leather which would be enough to make other pairs of shoes.
The man cut the leather and placed it where he placed the previous leather, on his workbench. The next day, the man was surprised to find two pairs of shoes in his workshop. The man then sold the shoes and he made good money from it.
This event occurred several times and as this kept happening soon after the man became rich. After a while, the man became curious about who made the shoes. So, he came up with one plan. One night, the shoemaker left some leather on his workbench and then he hid somewhere.
After a while, the man saw two little elves and they were dancing while making the shoes. The man was amazed to see the elves making the shoes, so he came out of hiding. The man decided to help the elves as they made the shoe.
After seeing this, the man and his wife decided to give warm clothes to the elves. They also made small shoes for the elves. The next night, the man and his wife did not leave any leather for the elves to make any shoes. Instead, they left only some clothes and some shoes.
The man left garments and shoes on the workbench for the small elves to see. They wore the shoes and clothes and they were very happy. The elves hopped on the table and they were dancing. After a while, the elves never came to the workshop to make any shoes for the man again.
They had already rewarded the shoemaker for his dedication and hard work by making him rich and every since that day, the man and his wife never had any trouble again.
