The story of Tom and John starts with a kind-hearted farmer named Tom. He lived in a small land that he owned. Tom works hard every day to earn a living for himself and his family. He was very helpful to anyone who needed his help.
Tom helped people who were ill, and he helped the families who lost their loved ones. He tried as much as he could to help anyone according to his capabilities. Everyone loved Tom due to his kind-hearted nature. Meanwhile, there is one person who hated Tom, and that was John.
John was Tom’s neighbor, and he was the only one who hated Tom despite his kind nature. Known for his laziness, it was no surprise that John never earned as much as Tom. He was very lazy, and he never put in the effort on his land. This made the land not produce enough crops for him to sell.
One particular day, right before harvest, John, blinded by jealousy, burns all the crops that Tom had grown on his land in just a single night. When one of the neighbors saw the fire on Tom’s land, they woke him up.
Everyone nearby did all they could to help Tom put the fire out. When Tom decided to trace where the fire was coming from, he found out that John must have started the fire. Tom didn’t take any immediate action but he planned to punish John if such action is committed again.
After a while, John became sick and he was rushed to the local clinic. However, the doctor was unable to provide the cure to John’s illness. Soon after, the news of John’s sickness was spread wide across the town. When Tom heard of John’s illness, he decided to help.
Tom rode on his horse to a far away village which had better experienced doctor. He then brought the doctor with him back to his town. The doctor was able to cure John’s illness. This act of kindness shocked John because all he had done in the past was to hurt Tom, and yet Tom still helped him.
John then asked Tom how he could get the spirit to help people who had hurt him, and Tom replied that he should always try to do the right thing. Regardless of the person’s behavior, he should always try to lend a helping hand.
After this, John and Tom became friends and because of this John changed his character. He started paying close attention to his crops and he earned more than he did before.
