The Three Billy Goats Gruff- Once upon a time, there lived three little Billy goats include big billy goat, a medium billy goat, and a little billy goat. The three billy goats had a last name that was gruff and for years many animals knew them as the three Billy Goats Gruff.
The three billy goats loved their home which was the hillside meadow. They loved to eat grass on the meadows and they would eat grass for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the meadows were now bare. During winter the snow would cover all the mountains and there was no grass any more.
The three billy goats then decided to leave the mountains and find food for them to eat. They planned to find grass in the meadows on the other side of the town. The three goats then went across the road, passed the village, and crossed a pond before they arrived at the bridge.
There was tall and green grass on the other side of the bridge and the goats had never seen this before. The goats happily stomped their feet and they wiggled their tail in joy. They were delighted that they had found yummy grass to eat.
However, before they could reach the other side filled with yummy grass they needed to cross the bridge. The main problem was that the bridge was narrow and it was also very long. The bridge could only allow one goat to cross at a time.
The youngest billy goat said that he wanted to cross the bridge first. He said that because he was small and fast, he should be the one to cross the bridge first and tell if it was safe. The other goats agreed to let the youngest goat cross the bridge.
Then the little goat proceeded to cross the bridge. However, when he got to the middle, he was stopped by a loud voice which was coming from under the bridge. The voice yelled that who was up there and who was climbing the bridge.
The youngest goat replied and he told his name, hobby, and his favorite color. He also asked the owner of the loud voice who he was and how he was doing. The voice yelled that he didn’t care who he was and then shouted.
The voice belonged to a troll who lived under the bridge and the troll was angry. He was angry that the little goat woke him from his sleep and now he was going to eat him for breakfast. This scared the little goat and he commented on how rude the troll was.
However, the little goat was clever. The little goat told the troll that he was small and quite bony and he only tasted like cabbage. He told the troll that his older brothers are much bigger than he was and they are right behind him. He also told the troll that he should wait for his brother.
The troll grumbled that he hated cabbage and he agreed with the little goat to wait for his brothers who are bigger and tastier. The troll then greeted the little goat and told him to have a lovely day. The little goat then hurriedly ran across the bridge to get to the other side. He climbed till he reached the tall and green grass in the meadows.
The other goats saw him playing in the grass and they happily wagged their ears. The middle goat then proceeded to cross the bridge next. He told the older goat that he was fatter than him and that if he could cross the bridge then it would be safe. The big goat then allowed the middle goat to cross the bridge. When the middle goat got to the middle of the bridge, he heard a loud and terrifying voice.
The troll asked who was up there and the middle goat told the troll his name and his hobbies. The troll shouted that he didn’t care about this. He was angry that the middle goat woke him from his sleep and now he was going to eat him for breakfast. This scared the middle goat and he commented on how rude the troll was.
The middle goat told the troll that he only looked fat but it was all gas. He told the troll that of eating him, he would only taste fat. But he had a brother who was fatter and tastier. He told the troll to wait for his brother to cross the bridge.
The troll expressed how he hated farts and he said that he would wait for his brother to pass. With that, the middle goat crossed the bridge and he was able to reach the meadows filled with green grass. The last goat remaining was the big goat.
He saw his brothers playing in the meadows filled with green grass and so he started to cross the bridge. He also heard a loud voice when he reached the middle of the bridge. The loud voice that was coming from under the bridge. The voice yelled that who was up there and who was climbing the bridge.

He had big hands and long feet. The troll also had his back covered with hair and they were as thick as grass. The goat was angry that two goats had already passed and they told him that they had bigger brothers who were behind them. He then told the big goats that he wasn’t an idiot and he couldn’t wait around for another goat so he was going to eat him.
The big goat was very clever and he was also the strongest one. The goat then dropped his horns and beat his feet. With speed, the goat-headed toward the troll and hit him. With a cry, the troll tumbled into the river. The big goat then safely crossed the bridge and he also joined his brothers who were playing in the meadows.
