The story of the tiger and the lion begins in a jungle where both animals live. All of the subjects loved the lion who controlled the jungle. The lion, in his capacity as king, always took care of the jungle’s animals. This earned him respect among his subjects, who acknowledged him as a true leader.
In the same jungle, the was also a tiger living there. Envious of the lion, the tiger believed he should be in charge of the entire jungle. According to the tiger, he was the strongest animal and so he thought he should be the ruler.
Having thoughts of him being the leader, the tiger challenged the lion. His mission was to show the animals in the jungle that he was much stronger than the lion. And so, he went to meet the lion in his territory and started causing a scene.
He was shouting in front of the lion’s den. Even though the lion was in his den, he was fast asleep. It was noon and the usual routine of the lion was to take a nap right after having his lunch. Being disturbed from his sleep, the lion was angry and he yelled.
The lion asked who was making all that noise outside of his den, but to his surprise, nobody answered. Curious about the noise, the lion came out of his den and he stood right in front of the tiger. Why was the tiger bothering him, the lion asked.
The lion instructed the tiger to go somewhere else to make as much noise as he wanted, however, he shouldn’t disturb the lion. Ready to challenge the lion, the tiger told him that all of the jungle belonged to every animal that lived in it, including his den.
He also told the lion that he had no right to chase him out and he would stay in front of the den for as much as he wanted. While they were arguing, an elephant passed by and he saw both the tiger and the lion.
The elephant went to meet them and he told them not to argue again. He asked for an explanation and the lion narrated the whole story to the elephant. After hearing the whole story, the elephant felt like he couldn’t do anything.
After a while, a dove also saw them arguing and he approached them. The dove also asked what was happening. He expressed how it was unlikely to see the lion and the tiger together. So the elephant narrated the whole story to the dove.
After hearing the whole story, the dove replied casually. This response surprised the elephant that he was prompted to ask the dove if there was any problem. The dove replied that indeed there was a problem, however, it wasn’t hard to solve.
The answer of the dove further confused the elephant. The dove then flew in between the lion and the tiger and they were annoyed by this. Thanks to this, they were able to stop arguing and then he told them that they could fix their problem by themselves. Surprised by the answer, both animals asked how.
The dove replied to them that this was an easy thing. He told them that the lion should continue sleeping while the tiger should continue yelling. Both animals were annoyed by this answer and the lion told the dove that he was stupid.
The tiger instructed the dove to let them handle the problem. The dove then pleaded with the lion to follow him into his den, and the lion agreed. Inside the den, the dove handed two little cottons to the lion and told him to use them to block his ears.
The lion went with the dove’s instructions and he told the tiger to shout as loudly as he wanted to. Afterward, the tiger shouted, however, the yelling had no effect on the lion thanks to the cotton. The lion then bid farewell to the dove and he went back into his den.
The dove then went to meet the tiger and told him that he informed the lion of his power and instructed him not to fight with him. He also them him that he was more powerful.
The dove pleased the tiger, and the tiger thanked it. The dove instructed him not to visit the lion in his den, as people might think him a lion’s servant. He was asked to move away and then remain at a distance, like a hilltop. The tiger relocated to the mountaintop after heeding all of the dove’s suggestions.
