Why The Antelope Lives In The Bush

Why The Antelope Lives In The Bush- This story starts in a small ancient community. An owner once shared a house with an antelope and a goat in this little village. The animals were being tamed and they were also asked not to mess with the owner’s food supply.

Why The Antelope Lives In The Bush

The owner’s wife often returned from the farm with food items like yam and vegetables. Every time she did, the Antelope and Goat would go to the farm and eat the cultivated produce.

Each time the owner and his wife saw that the Antelope and the Goat had eaten the food on the farm, they would get furious and warn the Goat and the Antelope not to repeat their action.

One day the wife of the owner went to her farm and she returned with only a tuber of yam. The owner and his wife planted some yams during planting season. After setting the pot on the heat, the wife brought the yam into the kitchen on a tray.

The woman wanted to peel the yam before she cooked it so she placed the yam on the floor and she remembered that she left the knife inside the house. As soon as she walked inside to get the knife, she discovered that the goat had consumed the yam.

The woman cried and she took a cane and flogged the goat. The Antelope entered the enclosure as the woman flogged the goat. His friend was being beaten by someone . The antelope and the goat begged for forgiveness and the owner’s wife forgives them. The antelope pitied the goat and he got some herbs to treat him.

One evening, the Antelope was roaming around the house and he found some vegetables on a tray. The owner’s wife began to flog the antelope when she noticed that he had begun eating the veggies, and he began to cry. The Goat saw this and he came to the rescue.

The goat asked what happened and the antelope replied that he could not survive on grass alone. The antelope also said that he needed to eat something else and if the owners were not willing to share their food with them, he would eat whatever he found.

One day as the owner’s wife was boiling a pot of water to make beans for her family, she used a sieve to remove the beans from the stone. Then it started raining, so the owner’s wife went to get her buckets to collect rainwater.

After she left the kitchen, the Antelope and the Goat entered the kitchen and they ate the beans. The owner’s wife became enraged and beat the antelope and goat upon learning about it. She injured the antelope and the goat so badly that the nearby hamlet had to treat them

After receiving the treatment, the animals returned home and the antelope decided that he couldn’t bear the beating any longer. The Goat pleaded with the Antelope to suffer alongside him. The goat knew that he had to bear the pain to survive, however, the Antelope wouldn’t listen to the goat because he knew that he could survive somewhere else.

The antelope and goat ate the wife’s yam of the owner again. They were threatened with flogging as a consequence. Before the flogging could take place, both animals ran away, unable to endure the punishment. The Antelope knew that he could survive and he was able to escape the punishment of the owner’s wife.

The owner punished the goat for committing another offense. The goat managed to convince himself that he was stronger because of the punishment. He also thought that he would be able to live with the owner. He didn’t believe in his independence.

The goat would often think about the Antelope who escaped and he was able to escape the beating of the owner’s wife. The Antelope believed in his independence so he was able to escape the torture of the owner’s wife. The goat lacked the confidence to leave and, as a result, remained living with the owner.
